Container Studio
In development · working environment
Much of this work develops inside an international shipping container that I rebuilt as a private studio, office and fabrication environment.
Creating the space gave me somewhere to prototype, manufacture, test machines and build a working practice before I had access to a formal university studio.

The space
Current work on the site includes connectivity, an external antenna to escape the metal enclosure, and operating within the container's real heat and power constraints. It is a working environment rather than a finished architectural project, and it is presented here as exactly that.

Reflection
Institutions grant legitimacy but meter access to it. Building my own space replaced that metering with maintenance.
An institution the size of a box: workshop, storage, energy, signal.
